Martin and Emily

Martin and Emily were married in Yei, South Sudan.  Martin is South Sudanese, and Emily is from Kenya; however they both have a heart and desire to use their experience, gifts and abilities to reach out and love people, wherever God calls them.

Ministry:
Their primary focus is to the Muslim population in Yei who come from all over East Africa, North Sudan, and Darfur.  They are outsiders and a closed community among themselves.  Emily had joined Martin in ministering to the people in Southern Darfur in 2009, where Martin had been church planting and reaching out to the Muslims since 2003.  Coming to Yei in 2010, they have been able to use their training and experience to reach out with the message of Jesus Christ to this unreached people group in Yei.
Emily’s background and heart is with loving children and teaching them the Word of God as well as empowering the women in the community.  She is presently running a Sunday-School at the base, and is involved with various programs with the children in the community and school.  Her desire is to see the next generation of children knowing God and being filled with Christ’s love.

Future Vision:
Their future vision is to carry the gospel to North East Congo.  It is their desire to see the people there reached out to and loved.  As of now, the Church is unstable and crumbling, and the people are in need of the message of Jesus Christ.  Their future plan, Lord willing, is to be able to empower the Church there through Leadership training as well as seminars for the youth.

Key verse:
“He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.’”
(Mark 16:15)
